RAPID
We make the first move in hours, not days or weeks. ATHENA supports grass-roots efforts at the moment of need. We know that for many people, getting some help today is more important than a perfectly planned response later.
RESPONSE
ATHENA deals with immediate solutions to immediate needs. Getting on the ground is important to empowering communities, so we go where we can work the problem directly with those affected. Practical solutions can be implemented today and revised tomorrow.
INNOVATION
Is it a brand new solution? An old solution used in a new way? ATHENA will find out what actually works and implement it. That may mean trying an approach that doesn’t seem sustainable at first, or that may only partially solve the larger problem. Once we start doing, we can often see better what really needs to be done.
LAB
Trial and error. Iteration. Constant experimentation. We are not afraid to fail as long as we are moving forward. At ATHENA, we choose to fail forward while doing rather than analyze endless simulations or guess at performance.
